Job Description :
Role: Staff Senior Accountant Location: New York, NY (Downtown) Pay Rate Range: $30 - $35 / Hour Internal Job ID: 10015338Downtown NFP is looking for a staff senior accountant on a temporary to permanent basis. Job Responsibilities:
  • Review, update and distribute Daily Bank activity report.
  • Set up ACH for all vendors paid via Direct deposit (Bonds payments, Credit card, Rent)
  • Set up all interbank ACH transfers
  • Download and save various bank statements
  • Distribute clients bank statements to the programs
  • Setup positive pay for checks, issue stop pay, download cancelled checks, review check exceptions
  • Set up cash batches in Financial Edge (general ledger software) daily based on funds received
  • Deposit checks in bank
  • Order Debit cards, load monies on debit card and handle debit card related issues with bank.
  • Record miscellaneous expense, cash receipts and interbank transfer entries on a monthly basis.
  • Prepare cash plan every two weeks.
  • Maintain and update budgets for expenses and revenue for Cash plan
  • Attend cash plan meeting every two weeks and make changes as needed and requested by other staff members.
  • Make all entries related to Household accounts including monthly transfers, monthly expense, interest earned and fees charged.
  • Maintain and reconcile petty cash fund for fund raising purposes.
  • Monthly bank reconciliation for 3 fundraising accounts.
  • Works closely with Controller and Assistant Controller in performing monthly close.
  • Update and reconcile assigned account analysis on a monthly basis.
  • Finalize all schedules for the annual audit.
  • Special projects and other related duties as needed.HDFC
  • Handle accounting for HDFC subsidiary along with audit reports
  • Make monthly journal entries
Requirements:
  • Bachelors in Accounting
  • Three Years of Accounting Experience
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work with numbers
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with coworkers, employees and outside contacts
  • Must be able to operate a calculator, computer and other necessary equipment
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and other pertinent software
  • Strong knowledge of accounting theory, principles, systems and techniques
  • Working knowledge of accounting terminology, procedures and equipment
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and perform work with a high degree of accuracy
