Our connectivity division is looking for an experienced Staff System Engineer whose responsibilities will include:
- Translate complex Radio PHY standardization specifications into innovative RFIC architectures, algorithms, and hardware solutions, achieving best-in-class performance, power, and area, while meeting timeline constraints.
- Analyse proprietary systems and customer-specific application requirements and propose differentiating RF PHY System solutions.
- Closely monitor and contribute to standardization efforts; introduce new wireless technologies.
- Develop comprehensive RF specifications in close collaboration with the RFIC Design, PHY Algorithms, System on Chip Architecture, and SW Architecture teams.
- Develop and maintain system level models of the Transceiver and the Synthesizer, conduct system level verification simulations, and assist in system integration.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and drive the development of algorithms like AGC, DPD, and the calibration / compensation of all other TRX and Synthesizer impairments.
- Maintain a deep understanding of the required low-level driver and stack Software, and contribute to its specification.
- Lead the validation of the RF PHY System in the lab, and optimize the Receiver, Transmitter, and Synthesizer line-ups towards production ramp-up.
- Troubleshoot architectural and RFIC design issues.
- Support the HW/SW development for validation, characterization, and production testing.
- Function as lead engineer in complex projects; contribute to project planning; identify project problems and provide solutions.
Qualifications:
- MS, or PhD and 8+ years of relevant industry experience, with a proven track record in CMOS Wireless SoC commercialization and technical leadership.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills with a multi-disciplinary focus.
- Proven expertise in specifying, developing, verifying, bringing-up and validating RF systems.
- Familiarity with Software Defined Radio techniques and wireless standards such as Bluetooth, IEEE 802.15.4, IEEE 802.11.
- Deep understanding of RF transceiver architectures, line-up analysis, AGC, RF impairment modelling and mitigation techniques.
- Knowledge of CMOS RFIC design concepts, DSP, Communications Theory, as well as Digital and SW architecture principles.
- Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills; strong analytical skills, particularly in linear algebra, random processes, and estimation.
- Proficient in MATLAB and Simulink for system simulation and algorithm development.
- Eagerness to contribute new ideas, build consensus, and drive tasks to completion.
Preferred Qualification:
- Experience with Ranging and Positioning algorithms and systems
- Patents or technical publications
- Proficiency in C, Python and Hardware Description Language skills.
- Experience with version control systems, e.g. Git.
