Job Summary:

Oversees the surgical services clinical information system, including scheduling, charge functions, associated material management and report generation. Coordinates trainings and the implementation, maintenance and advancement of automated peri-operative clinical information management systems and associated supportive processes. Applies substantial knowledge and experience to perform a wide range of advanced activities and/or determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals; serves as working supervisor for team or work group. Coordinates small program(s) with limited budget/impact.

Job Requirements:

Education and Work Experience:

  • High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
  • Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
  • Three years' technical experience: Preferred
  • Experience working with peri-operative clinical information systems: Preferred
  • Clinical experience as a surgical technologist or scrub nurse: Preferred

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinates the implementation of automated clinical information and management systems, including software maintenance, user training, evaluations and support. Provides clinical informatics insight for peri-operative and system-related decision making.
  • Develops, implements, monitors and evaluates the quality and effectiveness of surgeon preference card systems and charge processes.
  • Collaborates with department managers and associates to effectively and efficiently work with peri-operative team members and implement automated clinical information and management systems, like SurgiNet. Follows and reinforces case scheduling staff policies, rules and guidelines, as established by facilities and departments.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
