We're looking for driven individuals ready to learn quickly, adapt under pressure, and grow in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.As a Staff Packaging Engineer, you'll serve as a technical expert and thought leader, overseeing the development of innovative packaging strategies for our spinal implant portfolio. Candidates should ideally be located in Leesburg, VA (preferred) or Allendale, NJ.
What You'll Do:
Lead complex packaging development projects across multiple product lines
Create design rules, packaging procedures, and best practices
Oversee validation, testing, and regulatory compliance efforts for packaging
Guide design of cases, trays, and transport systems for both sterile and non-sterile devices
Champion packaging risk management and cost-optimization strategies
Monitor industry trends and introduce new packaging materials or technologies
Mentor junior and senior engineers, while shaping strategic direction of the packaging function
Maintain or obtain professional packaging certifications (e.g., CPP, IoPP)
What You Bring:
Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field
4+ years of hands-on experience in medical device packaging development
Advanced CAD skills (SolidWorks or Creo required)
Strong knowledge of QSR, ISO standards, and design control processes
Strategic thinker with excellent communication and leadership skills
Track record of driving cross-functional projects and delivering results

Compensation:The typical pay range for this position is$110,000 - $130,000 annually, with potential for bonuses and incentives plus benefits. Final compensation is determined on acase-by-case basisand considers experience level, skillset, and market conditions.
