Rutgers University Correctional Health Care is seeking Per Diem Staff Nurse for Edna Mahan Correctional Facility, located in Clinton, New Jersey. The Staff Nurse utilizes the nursing process to meet a variety of health care needs with ambulatory care as a primary focus. Works with a variety of health care professionals and security officers in a correctional environment. Frequently functions guided by nursing protocols. Functions as a team leader as assigned. Among the key duties of this position are the following: Provides direct and indirect nursing care to meet physiological, psychosocial and emotional needs of the inmate patient including adults (18 to 64 years), and geriatrics (65 ) and their family within the framework established by the correctional system. Utilizes effective communication skills by demonstrating respect, concern and courtesy in all interpersonal relationships.
