Staff Nurse - Part Time Part-Time (16-20 hrs per week) (Day-Time Hours) On-site: Hackensack - Garfield, NJ General Summary: The staff nurse will join a clinical team of practitioners and nurses to provide high quality primary and preventive healthcare to a multi-cultural, uninsured population in a practice environment that is respectful of patients and supportive of medical care. As needed, the staff nurse will fill in as charge nurse to be responsible for supervising the nursing staff and overseeing patient flow when on duty. Job Duties-Lab:

  • Work collaboratively with practitioners and nurse managers as part of a treatment team to address urgent and chronic healthcare needs, as well as preventive care. Assist in providing healthcare education and referrals to ancillary services
  • Support practitioners providing patient care on site as well as via telehealth
  • Take and record vitals and other visit information in EMR
As needed, the staff nurse will also:
  • Manage the nursing function of the Center while on duty, working with the Nurse Manager to assure sufficient nursing support and coverage of all scheduled patient sessions
  • Ensure that reporting requirements are met with regard to medications, medication storage or any other responsibilities assigned to the nursing staff
  • Triage Phone Calls
  • Guide Front desk on clinical matters as needed
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in nursing
  • Current RN/LPN licensure in NJ
  • Good interpersonal skills with an ability to work with a large volunteer staff
  • Exposure to and/or comfort with electronic medical records
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish) preferred
Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum Education and/or Experience Required: Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and current RN license; Experience in a multi-physician primary care practice or hospital-based ambulatory service.
  • Knowledge and Ability: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with professional medical staff and volunteers; knowledge of electronic medical records and ability to train others in the use of EMR.
Compensation:
  • $40 per hour
