As a Staff Data Scientist, you will lead the design, development, and scaling of AI solutions that impact millions of shopping journeys, enabling our associates to focus more on service. What You'll Do
  • Architect and lead large-scale Computer Vision and Machine Learning systems for member and associate experiences
  • Design innovative models for object detection, item recognition, tracking, and visual anomaly detection in retail environments
  • Drive technical initiatives including model training, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Operations leaders to shape vision-based technology roadmaps
  • Mentor Data Scientists and Engineers to foster technical excellence

  • You have deep expertise in Machine Learning and Computer Vision, especially in object detection, tracking, segmentation, or similar applications
  • You have experience building and deploying production ML systems at scale
  • You are strategic and hands-on, capable of high-level architecture and deep optimization

Minimum Qualifications

Outlined below are the minimum qualifications for this position. If none are listed, there are no minimum requirements.

  • Option 1: Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, IT, or related, plus 4 years' experience in analytics
  • Option 2: Master's degree in the same fields plus 2 years' experience
  • Option 3: 6 years' experience in analytics or related fields
Preferred Qualifications

Optional qualifications include expertise in data science, machine learning, optimization models, PhD in relevant fields, proficiency in Python, Spark, Scala, R, open-source frameworks like scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and knowledge of digital accessibility standards and inclusive design practices.
