As a Staff Engineer on the EWS (Engine Web Services) team, you will shape products that integrate seamlessly with existing features, data, and infrastructure. Your role involves designing scalable APIs, optimizing database schemas, contributing to technical proposals, mentoring engineers, and solving complex technical problems. You will influence architectural strategies and foster a culture of excellence and innovation.

About The Role
  • Design and implement large-scale backend systems and APIs.
  • Review code emphasizing readability and maintainability.
  • Document services and architecture.
  • Optimize database schemas for performance.
  • Contribute to RFC processes with technical proposals.
  • Mentor engineering talent and solve technical challenges.
  • Stay current with industry trends.
    • About You
  • 8+ years in software engineering.
  • 2+ years in senior engineering roles.
  • Experience collaborating across teams to deliver features.
  • Attention to detail in code review.
  • Proficiency in Java/Spring Boot.
  • Knowledge of software design patterns, functional programming, database schema design.
  • Experience with Kafka/MSK, RESTful APIs, PostgreSQL, AWS, and monitoring tools.
    • Additional Skills
  • Customer-facing experience.
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools like Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform.
  • Knowledge of Scala, Lightbend, and Typelevel ecosystems.
