PRIMARY PURPOSE: Handle field appraisal assignments for corporate fleets and insurance clients, focusing on automobiles.

Location: Syracuse, NY; Albany, NY; Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX; Albuquerque, NM; Denver, CO; Austin, TX; Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN; Midland, TX; Pittsburgh, PA

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set same-day appointments, inspect vehicles within 24 hours, and write estimates on-site.
  • Prepare to write 6 to 10 estimates per day, depending on location.
  • Conduct proper vehicle teardown and determine repair time allotments and required labor operations.
  • Make accurate repair/replace decisions and assess pre-existing damage for total loss evaluations.
  • Negotiate prices with shop decision-makers and establish expected completion dates.
  • Review and assess validity of all supplement requests.
  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair estimates and the claims process.
  • Maintain accuracy in repair cost estimates and negotiate advanced fees when vehicles are declared total losses.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all parties involved in claims processing.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the quality assurance team and perform desk appraisal work when not in the field.

Qualifications:

  • Education & Licensing: Bachelor's degree preferred; licenses as required for the role.
  • Experience: Minimum of four years of insurance or body shop experience.
  • Skills & Knowledge:
    • Technical knowledge of auto appraisals.
    • Understanding client operations and labor regulations.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
    • Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
    • Negotiation and judgment skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and work in a team environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This is an independent field appraisal position, and you will be responsible for managing your territory and scheduling your workday.

Mental Requirements: Strong problem-solving skills, ability to manage work-related stress, judgment, and discretion.

Physical Requirements: Computer keyboarding and local travel as needed.

Compensation: The starting salary range for this role is $60,000 - $70,000 annually, influenced by skills, experience, and location. A comprehensive benefits package is included.
