Staff Accountant - University of Rio Grande : Job Details

Under the general supervision of the University Controller, the Staff Accountant is responsible for gathering, compiling, and entering financial data into the accounting system. The Staff Accountant also supports the Controller in various general accounting responsibilities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial policies. Essential Duties:Journal Entries & Data Compilation: Compile financial information and prepare monthly journal entries using billing service reports and bank statements. Daily Imports & Processing: Handle the daily import and processing of financial data from payroll and student information systems into the finance system, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Bank Reconciliations: Review and reconcile all bank accounts to the general ledger, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
