This is a newly created position that combines normal accounting duties with a compliance role necessitated by a material increase in funding related to the Eaton Canyon wildfire relief effort. Key Responsibilities:General Ledger Maintenance
Record journal entries, accruals, and adjustments in accordance with GAAP and nonprofit fund accountingReconcile general ledger accounts, bank statements, and credit card accounts each monthAccounts Payable
Process vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, and credit card reconciliationsEnsure timely payments and accurate coding of expenses by fund, grant, and programRetail Deposits & Sales Reconciliation
Record and reconcile daily deposits from ReStore retail operations, including sales, returns, and vendor market booth activityVerify cash, check, and credit card transactions against point-of-sale reportsProperly allocate revenue and prepare related journal entriesGrant and Fund Accounting, Compliance
Assist in tracking restricted and unrestricted funds, grants, and program-specific budgetsAssist in determining reporting requirements for funding sourcesWork to help ensure that resources are utilized appropriately in relation to funding source requirementsSupport compliance reporting and maintain documentation for funding sourcesFinancial Reporting & Audit Support

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- 2+ years of relevant accounting experience; nonprofit experience preferred
- Strong understanding of GAAP and nonprofit fund accounting
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting software
- High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
