- Standard Work Duties: Staff Accountant
- Daily tasks consist of accurately prepares bank deposit of funds received for various areas of Patient Financial Services and also accurately preparing journal entry(s) to record daily receipts. Maintains detailed record of miscellaneous receipts. Maintains daily AR reconciliation reports using system generated AR reports.
- Prepares monthly billing for various services and other miscellaneous receivables and follow-up on collections of these accounts.
- Prepares monthly reconciliation of selected general ledger accounts.
- Assists in month end close process. Performs monthly analysis and prepares journal entries for various financial statement accounts.
- Prepare and distribute reports to various areas as needed or requested.
- Assist the department in leveraging technology to improve processes.
- Assists in preparation of audit work papers (interim and year end) as assigned.
- Review and prepared Daily Revenue upload and AR reconciliations.
Competencies & SkillsEssential:
- Knowledge of GAAP, Not-for-Profit Accounting.
- Ability to analyze financial reports and perform account reconciliations.
- Microsoft Excel and general ledger systems, computer literacy and ability to effectively learn new software programs.
- Planning and Organizational skills.
Nonessential:
- Experience in Lawson accounting system.
Qualifications & ExperienceEssential:
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance
Nonessential:
- Healthcare, Accounting experience
Other information:Experience Essential: 1 to 2 years general accounting clerical or bookkeeping. Experience Preferred: Healthcare industry experience.
