Intermountain Health/St. Mary's Regional Hospital volunteers provide customer service to make visitors feel welcome and that their medical needs are important. Volunteers provide directions to help navigate the hospital.
Assigned Duties:
- Greet the public, direct visitors and patients to hospital departments and answer questions.
- Answer phones and transfer calls to patient rooms and departments.
- Look up patient room numbers on the computer for callers, florists and visitors.
- Pick up and deliver the patient's mail from the Mail Room.
- Deliver patients mail, flowers and personal items.
- Deliver newspapers (Tuesday-Sunday) to departments and the Mail Room.
- Assist patients and visitors by taking them to destination within the hospital when necessary.
- Assist patients with ambulatory issues to acquire a wheelchair.
- Locate vacant wheelchairs and place in the storage area by the front desk.
Requirements:
- Must pass criminal background check and complete hospital health screening.
- Complete hospital orientation and position training.
- Represent the hospital core values and mission.
- Maintain patient confidentiality.
- Be courteous and respectful toward patients, visitors , staff and volunteers.
- Able to follow directions.
- Able to adapt to a changing environment.
- Able to work without supervision.
- Ability to read and comprehend information.
- Ability to speak pleasantly on the phone.
- Ability to problem solve.
- Possess basic computer skills.
- Customer service experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Sitting: 40-50%
- Walking: 40-50%
- Pushing Patients in wheelchairs: 25%
- Lifting: No more than 10lbs.
Days and Times Available:
- Monday -Friday: 7:30am and noon to 4:30 pm
- Saturday/Sunday: Flexible shifts between 7:00am to 7:00pm
