Position Overview

The Senior System Manager role is part of diverse Global IT department, which is driving digital transformation across the organization. As part of the Global ERP & Enterprise Services team, this role plays a key role in maintaining and developing the DSM Scheduling System, crucial for streamlining our drug substance production. This role also collaborates closely with team to ensure efficient, compliant IT services, working primarily with SQL, Alteryx, and Tableau. This role captures deployment requests, develop new system features, and strategize alongside our global team. Job Description

What You'll Do

  • Maintains and enhances the code base for the system's data pipeline to ensure seamless operation and optimal performance.
  • Develop and implement new features to enhance the system's functionality and address changing business needs.
  • Continuously optimize business operations to increase efficiency and ensure compliance with business requirements.
  • Ensures effective second-level support for the system and advocate for best practices in application usage.
  • Oversees smaller project management tasks, leads personal optimization projects, and collaborates on projects with vendors and team members.
  • Ensures the smooth operation and security of all assigned systems/technologies.
  • Captures deployment requests and needs, collaborating closely with the global team to drive the system's strategic direction.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to support and improve IT services.
  • Utilizes SQL, Alteryx, and Tableau to tailor the system to our internal data platform, linking it with other manufacturing systems.
  • Monitors emerging technologies and prepare for potential integration of new tools such as Snowflake into our tool stack.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Familiarity with Tableau or other data visualization tools
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills and fluency in English
  • Ability to prioritize and work autonomously based on common goals and objectives.
  • Ability to analyze production data, understand process flows, and apply capacity models
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional teams
  • High attention to detail and capability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Basic Requirement

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent with 8 years of applicable industry experience OR
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT or related fields with 5 years of applicable industry experience OR
  • Master's degree in computer science, IT or related fields with 3 years of applicable industry experience
  • Prior experience and proficiency in SQL, Alteryx, and Tableau, with the ability to quickly adapt to new technology tools
  • Experience working with data pipelines
  • Experience managing and developing complex IT systems within a manufacturing or biotech environment.

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience working in CGMP facility
  • Prior experience working in a CDMO environment
  • Relevant technical certifications
