Title: Sr Specialists, Project Engineer Location: Camden, AR Job Type: FTE/Permanent Schedule: 4/10: Employees work 10 hour days, 4 days a week Job Description: Seeking for an experienced Project Engineers to support production programs at a manufacturing facility. The Sr. Specialist Responsible Engineering Authority Project Engineer will represent the engineering center of excellence in assessing and resolving production-related product non-conformances. This role requires in-depth knowledge of all design and performance aspects of assigned programs to enable accurate disposition of non-conforming hardware. The engineer will work with a cross-functional team including Chief, Project, Design, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineers, along with the Product Manager. Essential Functions:
- Apply a comprehensive understanding of engineering principles, concepts, and practices.
- Prioritize and evaluate real-time work-in-progress non-conformances (repair, scrap evaluation, functional coordination).
- Support real-time process optimization and yield improvements by minimizing waste and optimizing resource use.
- Integrate design documents and risk management tools (e.g., DFMEA / PFMEA, key characteristic updates, MRL improvements).
- Provide factory-specific technical input to support root cause and corrective action.
- Assist in designing and testing new equipment, processes, procedures, and systems.
- Be technically capable of assessing non-conformances to determine immediate actions (rework, scrap, etc.).
- Act as the engineering authority for root cause and corrective actions, in close collaboration with the Quality team.
- Support and inform engineering dispositions through analytical input.
- Represent and speak to material review board (MRB) processes.
- Utilize engineering tools including test equipment, CAD, and office software.
- Adhere to systems engineering principles, including requirements and risk management.
- Apply knowledge of standard engineering tools, rocket propulsion theory, and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 6 years of project engineering experience, or
- Graduate degree and a minimum of 4 years of related experience, or
- In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 10 years of project engineering experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Proficiency in CAD, GD&T, engineering analysis, or materials science.
- Working knowledge of office productivity software.
- Ability to assess complex problems quickly, make decisions, and ensure resolution.
- Experience in root cause analysis and handling non-conformances.
- Background in project, materials, process, manufacturing, or integration/test engineering.
- Experience in designing and testing equipment, processes, or systems.
- Six Sigma certification.
