Position Title

Sr Sales Engineer (P4)

Role

Assist in generating new business and growing existing accounts by assessing applications of company products and designing solutions that meet customer needs. Responsible for customer-facing sales presentations and acting as a subject matter expert.

Responsibilities
  • Support and build sales using technical knowledge of products.
  • Determine customer requirements through interface with clients.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop and validate network designs.
  • Design data network solutions considering technical and financial parameters.
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing sales proposals, RFPs, and RFQs.
  • Provide customer feedback to Product Management for future offerings.
  • Research and present cost-benefit reports to potential customers.
  • Review service orders and participate in service kickoff meetings.
  • Develop and deliver training on new products and technologies.
  • Support and mentor other Sales Engineers.
  • Perform additional support duties as assigned.
  • Minimum Requirements
    • Bachelor's degree required.
    • At least 7 years supporting telecommunications services to enterprise accounts.
    • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Experience with Microsoft Office, Visio, mapping software, and CRM tools.
    Technical Skills
    • Understanding of Fiber Optic characteristics, DWDM, SONET, Carrier Ethernet, IP Routing protocols (BGP, IPv4/IPv6).
    • Excellent technical presentation skills.
    Organizational & Work Conditions

    Reports to: Manager Fiber Sales Engineering. Hybrid work model, with in-office Tuesdays to Thursdays, and optional work from home on other days. Some travel may be required.

    Compensation

    Salary range: $123,000 - $169,100 annually, with potential bonuses, equity, and benefits including health insurance, 401k, paid time off, and holidays.
