We are seeking a Sr. Proposal Specialist to join our federal team at our Huntsville, Alabama location. Under direct supervision, develop and prepare assigned sections for Request for Proposals (RFP), Requests for Qualification (RFQ), Limitations of Funds Notifications, Project Set Up, RFP Set Up, CPARS, Business Development Support, Booking of Projects, Release of Claims, File Retention, Direct Contract Support, Engineering Change Proposals (ECP), and team reviews to ensure accurate content and timely completion to support potential sales. Works as an integral part of the Proposal and Operations Teams, performing duties including communication with external customers.At Johnson Controls, we support our nation's critical facilities and the people who occupy them. Johnson Controls Federal Systems (JCFS) is a team serving as a trusted partner to the federal government, helping modernize military installations, DoD, and federal agency facilities to be smarter, resilient, efficient, sustainable, and secure.Pay Range: $90,000 - $100,000. Negotiable based on experience.Work Schedule: 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, M-F. Overtime as needed.Benefits: Eligible from first day of employment.Vacation: 3 weeks paid vacation, 5 sick days, 3 floating holidays, and 10 standard holidays per year (total 6.5 weeks off).Travel Required: None. All work is based at this location. (No remote or hybrid work.)As a Sr. Proposal Specialist , you will:Review solicitations and customer requirements to provide thorough responses for assigned proposal sections. Create and update proposal files, coordinate with finance, respond to government inquiries, and ensure submission compliance.Receive pricing information, prepare final pricing documents, verify accuracy, and sanitize documents for submission.Produce and submit proposals and ECPs via electronic means, support multiple projects, and maintain project funding and documentation in various systems.Maintain CPARS database, track performance, and participate in rebuttals and approvals.Support Business Development activities, including RFP submissions through PIEE, ProjNet, and other platforms, and work with past performance data.Provide guidance on proposal and contract requirements, coordinate debriefs, and support negotiations.Assist with FSE reviews, updates, and testing, report issues, and suggest improvements.Train less experienced proposal specialists and provide backup support for team lead roles.Participate in team activities and perform other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.Significant contribution (4+ years) to federal proposal preparation.Total of 10+ years related experience with proposal pricing.Government financial experience.Preferred Qualifications:Familiarity with FAR and DFAR.Understanding of CUI handling.Strong organizational skills.Secret Clearance or ability to obtain.Team player with good communication skills.Self-motivated, able to work independently.Software Used: Procore, FSE, Salesforce, RMS, CPARS, SAM, DOD Safe, GovWin, Microsoft Office (advanced Excel), Access, PIEE, ProjNet, SharePoint, Visio, Adobe Acrobat Pro.Who We Are: Johnson Controls Navy Systems supplies HVAC and refrigeration systems to the US Navy and Coast Guard.
