Senior Construction Project Manager Job Description
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and manage all phases of hyperscale data center retrofitting and renovation projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Serve as the primary point of contact and liaison with the client, fostering strong relationships, addressing concerns, and ensuring alignment with project goals.
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation to achieve project objectives efficiently.
- Oversee and direct project teams, including subcontractors, vendors, and internal staff, to ensure seamless execution of project plans.
- Mentor and lead the local project team, fostering a collaborative environment that reflects Weeks Construction Services' culture of excellence, integrity, and innovation.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, building codes, and company standards specific to data center environments.
- Prepare and present project status reports to stakeholders, including cost analyses, progress updates, and risk assessments.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, resolving issues promptly to maintain project momentum.
- Negotiate contracts with vendors and subcontractors to secure cost-effective and high-quality services.
- Drive continuous improvement by implementing best practices and innovative solutions to enhance project outcomes in data center retrofitting and renovation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in construction project management, with at least 4 years in a senior or leadership role managing hyperscale data center retrofitting or renovation projects.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale data center projects valued at $10M+.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations specific to hyperscale data centers.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with experience acting as a client liaison.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and lead teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and alignment with company values.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Microsoft Project, or similar).
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- PMP or equivalent certification is a plus.
