What You'll Do

As a Project Engineer, you will lead capital projects and provide management to the most risky and challenging (major) projects. You will be responsible for ensuring that capital is invested efficiently and effectively through application of the project management system to all capital projects. Other duties include:

  • Improve project delivery capability by continual development of both systems and personnel.
  • Demonstrate and/or lead the commitment to achieving Zero Harm through behavioral-based safety practices (e.g., Safe Act Observation, Job-Step Analysis, Take 5's, stretching, and adherence to all safety rules).
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Company HSE (Health, Safety & Environmental) Performance Standards, as well as relevant acts and regulations.
  • Live and foster the IPL (Incitec Pivot Limited) Corporate Values.
  • Support Business Improvement initiatives and ensure participation from all areas of responsibility.
  • Ensure compliance with and continuous improvement of the PMO's Project Management System.
  • Control the nominated site capital expenditure and projects to meet production and financial targets.
  • Monitor and forecast the nominated Manufacturing Site capital outlay.
  • Set and achieve project planning and delivery performance targets.
  • Provide clear and concise project reporting across nominated sites.
  • Embed value analysis processes into capital submission proposals.
  • Integrate global engineering resources into capital projects as needed.
  • Assemble and utilize competent multidisciplinary project teams using both internal and external resources, establishing project leadership and coaching to ensure performance towards project objectives.
  • Represent the regional project delivery team, facilitating effective communication and maintaining strong relationships with site leadership.
What We're Looking For
  • BSc degree in Engineering (Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical) or 10+ years of experience as a Project Manager.
  • 7+ years in a related industry with proven project management, problem solving, startup, and commissioning experience.
  • Experience managing portfolios exceeding $4M and individual projects over $1M.
  • Knowledge of process equipment selection (pumps, vessels, heat exchangers).
  • Familiarity with automated process control in manufacturing, including instrumentation for temperature, flow, level, pressure, and pH.
  • Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and team-oriented mindset.
