Sr. Profee Coder - CSI Companies : Job Details

CSI Companies is hiring a Remote Sr. Profee Coder (Pulmonary, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Ortho) for one of our top healthcare clients.

Hours: Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week, standard business hours

Location: Remote

Pay: $30-36/hour based on experience and additional Cardiology specialty cert (CCC)

Position Type: Temp to Perm

Job Summary:

As a Remote Sr. Profee Coder (Pulmonary, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Ortho), you will leverage your coding expertise to focus on high-dollar outpatient accounts within Cardiology. Your primary responsibility will be maintaining accurate ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT coding for these specialty diagnoses and procedures. You will ensure a consistent coding accuracy rate of 95% or higher through the careful review of clinical documentation and diagnostic results.

You will also abstract data into electronic medical record systems, ensuring accurate patient dispositions and physician documentation while following ICD-10-CM/PCS and AMA CPT Guidelines.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assign appropriate codes for specialty diagnoses, treatments, and procedures using ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT guidelines.
• Abstract relevant data from clinical documentation into electronic medical records.
• Validate patient admission orders and discharge dispositions.
• Manage coding tasks from assigned queues and finalize accounts on hold after corrections.
• Meet or exceed a coding accuracy rate of 95% and productivity standards.
• Identify and report hospital-acquired conditions (HAC).
• Collaborate with HIM and Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists to query providers for missing or unclear documentation.
• Participate in both internal and external audits.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager.

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics or Health Information Management.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years of Profee Multispecialty coding to include Pulmonary, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Ortho, (any combination) in E/m leveling office and inpatient setting
• Certifications: Active CPC or CCS certification required; specialty certifications is a plus
