Description

At Northrop Grumman, our employees have incredible opportunities to work on revolutionary systems that impact people's lives around the world today, and for generations to come. Our pioneering and inventive spirit has enabled us to be at the forefront of many technological advancements in our nation's history - from the first flight across the Atlantic Ocean, to stealth bombers, to landing on the moon. We look for people who have bold new ideas, courage and a pioneering spirit to join forces to invent the future, and have fun along the way. Our culture thrives on intellectual curiosity, cognitive diversity and bringing your whole self to work — and we have an insatiable drive to do what others think is impossible. Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.

Global Supply Chain Strategic Sourcing works directly with Division & Functional Leadership to shape our long-term strategies to position our supply chain as a competitive advantage. No day will look the same. You will lead and own the long-term development strategies of our suppliers' positioning to meet our system-based Operations requirements. This includes areas such as their capability gaps, capacity constraints and internal/external investment strategies to minimize the risks. You may be asked to stand up an Integrated Product Team (IPT) for the Sector or partner with an existing team out of one of the Divisions or Sectors. Better yet, you will tell us where you see technology gaps, and proactively move to improve.

We are looking for an experienced and cross-functional leader, comfortable executing in ambiguous situations, and able to quickly come up to speed to work autonomously across a fast-moving demand. There will be a strong focus around the tools of Digital Transformation such as Mission Product Lifecycle Management (MPLM). Horsepower is critical but passion for our mission and a willingness to be flexible in helping us accomplish it is a must. 100% remote will be considered for this role or in our Linthicum, MD facility.

  • You will be supporting MPLM as the Business Owner. You will collaborate with GSC representatives across the sector, setting priorities and negotiating value for GSC on who, how, and when to bring our suppliers into the digital design review process. You will be expected to understand how GSC processes work and how to improve Operational Efficiencies within the processes to support the mission and provides value to our Programs for execution.

  • Oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing MPLM projects and serve as liaison between MPLM and GSC. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and business satisfaction goals and objectives. Develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with stakeholders.

  • Become the connective tissue across the organization. You will be exposed to macro conversations at the highest levels as well as the tactical work our teams are driving. You will be expected to communicate up, down, and across the organization to ensure we are all moving in the same direction.

  • Capable to present to Executive Management (i.e. VP Advanced & Strategic Operations, Operations Division Executives (ODEs), Strategic Growth, etc.) to provide clarity on the advancement on your initiatives within the Sector and Supply Chain.

  • Frequently communicate with business and technical leadership and translate high level conversations into action.

Basic Requirements for Sr Principal Technical Services Project Management:
  • 8+ years of supply chain, project management, process improvement and/or related experience with a Bachelor's Degree, 6+ years of supply chain, project management, process improvement and/or related with a Master's Degree. 4+ years of supply chain, project management, process improvement and/or related with a PhD.

  • 3+ years as a team lead in current or past projects

  • Prior experience working Product Lifecycle Management tools, especially when using in collaboration with external suppliers for internal cross-functional needs.
