Position Summary: Assists the Payroll Director with overseeing the payroll department and provides assistance with accurate and timely processing of payroll. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Include the Following: 1. Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors 2. Collaborates with Payroll Manager regarding staff accountability for their performance and provides developmental opportunities. 3. Assist with preparation of all payroll reporting including biweekly and quarterly taxes; W-2 processing. 4. Coordinates and participates in all aspects of the biweekly payroll process to ensure all timelines are met and the most accurate data is transmitted. 5. Maintain withholding and tax table dictionary in payroll system (Meditech). 6. Maintain hours and earning dictionary in payroll system (Meditech). 7. Assist with the implementation of new systems; create new strategy for evolution of systems and processes. 8. Maintain/enforce/create payroll policies and procedures. 9. Attends and participates in education programs or activities to maintain current level of knowledge and expertise. 10. Ensure all Payroll and Human Resources information is kept confidential. 11. Participates in committees, task forces, projects, etc. as required. 12. Performs all other related duties as assigned. Education & Experience Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in Business Administration required.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of payroll calculation and processing.
  • Knowledge of Federal, State and Local payroll laws.
  • Kronos experience preferred. Automated Time and attendance system required.
  • Workday experience required.
  • Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and v-lookups.
  • Prior healthcare experience preferred.

Any hazardous chemicals the employee may be exposed to are listed in the hospital's SDS (Safety Data Sheet) data base and may be accessed through the hospital's Intranet site (Employee Tools/SDS Access).
