Job Summary

Design and development of packaging for new products and modification to existing product packaging and labeling.

Activities include sterile barrier system design, development, testing and sourcing. This involves working with the cross-functional project core team and the customer to understand the product needs and ensuring packaging performance and compliance to industry standards. This position will participate in the execution of development projects as part of a multi-functional project team.

Essential Functions

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for packaging across all Resolution Medical programs in both Operations and Development. As the internal subject matter expert, the person in this role will be required to keep up to date with all changes to standards and guidance documents which affect products and services offered by Resolution Medical.
  • Develop product requirement specifications for packaging based on customer needs, timelines, risk considerations and applicable guidelines (industrial and government guidelines and/or standards)
  • Specify and develop tests for product testing determining acceptability of designs to requirements.
  • Author packaging verification and validation protocols.
  • Execute and/or review packaging design, including material selection, pallet configuration
  • Provide packaging guidance to core team and customers
  • Manage the portfolio requiring quoting and sourcing for materials and outside test services across all programs.
  • Make recommendations about company packaging system strategy
  • Prepare plans and schedules for own work.
  • Serve as cross-functional team member representing Product Development, for development projects (as assigned). Duties include task management, , leading packaging design reviews, documentation, and coordination of project activities related to packaging.
  • Communicates with core team on progress and decisions and to functional manager.
  • Support Internal & External (customer) functions of finance, accounting, human resources, quality, regulatory, and clinical departments as necessary to ensure compliance with requirements.
  • May have direct reports or provide work direction to others as applicable

Requirements

Education, Experience, Required Skills

  • Ability to handle and be trusted with confidential and/or sensitive information.
  • Bachelor's degree in packaging engineering or related field (equivalent applicable work experience may be considered).
  • 5-10 years' experience in the medical device industry with a focus in design, testing and manufacturing of sterile barrier systems and labeling.
  • Experience with programs including Solid Works and Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with good engineering techniques.
  • Must be articulate and able to effectively communicate very technical subjects with peers and customers.
  • Strong solution-oriented problem-solving skills to identify, gather, and analyze information, develop solutions and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to implement change in a way that positively impacts overall department and company performance.
  • Must excel at working in a team environment with a high level of people/interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to cross functionally drive results.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
  • Ability to be flexible and to handle multiple projects in an organized, timely manner.
  • Able to solve problems, work under pressure, and to effectively manage stress.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Able to travel to support projects and customer requirements.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times.
  • Must wear gown, gloves, ear protection and other personal protective equipment as applicable.

Compensation

  • The typical base pay range for this role is between $105,000-120,000/year. Compensation may vary based on individual job-related knowledge, skills, expertise, and experience. This position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.
  • 401(k) Plan: Company-provided Safe Harbor Contribution of 3% of eligible earnings.
