Senior Mechanical Design Engineering supervisor with automation experience to join their team working in the areas of Special purpose Machine building, Filling, Packaging. The successful applicant will be heavily involved in all aspects of engineering in the company including product design and manufacturing, production scheduling, product flow, detailed models as well as engineering drawings. Job Description
- Oversee the Design Department, including R&D
- Enhance and manage work systems
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks throughout the design process.
- Ensure quality control in design and manage corrective actions.
- Plan and prioritize departmental tasks using approved project methodologies and workflows.
- Lead the Design SCRUM Team alongside assigned deputies.
- Monitor and report on the status of all design projects.
- Oversee risk assessments and implement safety strategies.
- Provide pricing feedback to the Sales and Marketing Team.
- Lead and manage continuous improvement projects within the design department.
- Conduct and oversee internal and external design reviews.
- Implement and manage the Product Data Management (PDM) system.
- Maintain strong customer relationships throughout the design process and post-installation.
Required Skills & Experience: - Detail-oriented, methodical, collaborative, and professional.
- Mechanical Engineering degree or similar qualification.
- Experience in the automation industry
- Minimum of 5 years in a senior mechanical design role within the special purpose Automation industry
Key Skills: - Strong experience in 3D CAD modeling (Solidworks preferred)
- Capability to create innovative concept proposals to challenging tasks
- Track record in designing mechanisms including the integration of technologies that perform reliably
- Ability to size mechanical systems to meet the demands of the equipment life cycle
