Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Manager - Space Planning to lead our space planning and merchandising initiatives. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, analyzing, and optimizing planograms to enhance product placement, maximize sales, and improve the customer experience. You will work closely with merchandising, visual merchandising, inventory planning, vendors, stores & store's leadership to ensure planogram compliance, efficiency, and alignment with business strategies. In this role you will be responsible for the successful deployment and integration of planogramming software across our retail locations. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, process buildout, analytics, project management skills, and a deep understanding of retail merchandising. Key Responsibilities:System Implementation
  • Lead the implementation of planogramming software, including setup, configuration, and customization to meet business needs.
  • Collaborate with IT, merchandising, planning, stores, and operations teams to define requirements,
  • Lead the development of features and functionality, including the identification of business opportunities, requirements definition, project implementation and evaluation
  • Ensure seamless integration with existing systems for systemic data flows (POS, RetailNext, assortment management tools)
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, and resource allocation.
  • Communicate with key stakeholders and contributors, ensuring alignment on project goals, deliverables, and expectations. Lead cross-functional teams, assign tasks, and monitor progress to ensure timely completion.
  • Build out system framework/architecture to fit the needs of Bluemercury and its partners.
  • Design and develop store and fixture templates for rollout
  • Develop and establish best practices with system integration and possibly adapt current ways of working to create overall efficiencies.
  • Build out training and documentation for field and cross-functional team members.
  • Partner with relevant technical & business partners to continuously improve and maximize output of delivery team; evaluate technical constraints, complexities, & capabilities.
  • Develop and present reporting to aid with decision making in relation to category, brand, and planogram performance, identifying areas for improvement and opportunities for growth.
New Store Setup
  • Ensure all new and remodel stores are set up in the system.
  • Work with cross-functional teams including Merchandising, Planning, Visual Merchandising, and New Store Execution to ensure optimal assortments and placement is made for these locations for specific Client demographics and seasonality.
  • Issue New Store Maps, Planograms and SKU Lists.
Floorplan Development
  • Develop floorplans for each location.
  • Analyze data to ensure category space is in-line with company strategy.
  • Ensure placement of brands is optimized for visibility and evaluate prioritization.
Planogram Development
  • Design and implement data-driven planograms that enhance shelf productivity, category performance, customer shopping experience, and align with Bluemercury brand standards.
Data Analysis & Performance Metrics
  • Analyze sales, inventory, and shopper insights to make recommendations for brand, category, and SKU level performance to maximize revenue per square foot.
  • Utilize data to assist teams with optimizing product assortments.
Communication, Implementation, & Compliance
  • Ensure planogram and visual compliance at store level by providing execution guidelines, training, and support to field teams.
  • Ensure rollout is streamlined to minimize store workload and reduce the need for additional componentry.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: A minimum of 7 years of experience in a retail environment with experience in store presentation, visual merchandising, or operations.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Retail Management, or a related field.
  • Communication: Exceptional oral and written communication skills are a must, with the ability to effectively engage with various levels within the organization.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership and project management skills, along with the ability to cultivate robust cross-functional relationships, are essential.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving abilities and a results-oriented mindset are crucial.
  • Multi-Tasking: Capable of independently managing multiple projects, timelines, priorities, and expectations concurrently.
  • Technology: Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, is required. Experience with Microsoft SharePoint is a plus. Experience with utilizing planogramming software (e.g. Blue Yonder, Relex, Space Man)
