The Senior IT Developer will be a top-level technical expert in one or more highly specialized areas of applications systems analysis and programming. They will provide technical leadership on complex projects, may act as an expert in a business or functional area, formulate/define system scope and objectives, and devise or modify procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and desired results. The role also involves preparing detailed specifications for program development, designing, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation. The Senior IT Developer must maintain comprehensive technical knowledge of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming and may oversee multiple project phases.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical vision and direction for aspects of projects.
  • Write design briefs and technical documents and contribute to project requests.
  • Develop project risk mitigation plans to address potential technical issues.
  • Apply problem-solving abilities across technical disciplines.
  • Resolve technical conflicts using prior experience and technical knowledge.
  • Learn and implement existing technical processes, leading to new systems or processes.
  • Estimate tasks effectively by understanding technical and project dependencies.
  • Improve existing applications or influence technical direction for cost or time savings.
  • Develop a network of contacts and resources.
  • Participate in formal presentations to IS staff and business sponsors.
  • Serve as technical lead for project portions or entire projects depending on size.
  • Contribute to application, data, and technical architecture design.
  • Serve as a departmental technical resource for specific disciplines.
  • Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical area or equivalent.
  • Progressively increasing levels of technical leadership.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Financial or business experience is helpful but not required.
  • 8-10 years of experience with .NET (VB.NET, C#.NET, ASP.NET) and SQL Server 2000, 2005, and 2008.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
