Position Purpose:

Seeking world-class talent to join the world's leading distributor of automotive and industrial replacement parts and value-added services operating 5,500+ locations and servicing more than 20,000 locations in the U.S. and Canada. This role functions as a senior engineer supporting 53 NAPA DCs, playing a key role in building and running one of the world's largest automotive and industrial replacement parts operations.

This Sr. Engineer – Package Software position focuses on Distribution Center (internal customer) needs, designing and coding application functionalities to meet DC requirements. You will be part of a team responsible for delivering a multi-year transformation initiative, including design, development, testing, implementation, and optimization of warehouse management solutions using Manhattan's Active WMS.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a subject matter expert within the Manhattan Associates suite of applications, MA Active WM Platform.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for all DC Automation systems (WES, MHE) integrating with MA Active WM.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Optimize warehouse operations by developing and implementing best practices and process improvements.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the implementation team.
  • Monitor system performance and recommend enhancements to improve productivity.
  • Conduct workshop sessions to ensure effective system use.
  • Stay updated with Manhattan Active new product releases and innovations in warehouse management.
  • Complete tasks competently, effectively, and efficiently based on priority.
  • Guide automation testing and performance testing for MA Active WM applications.
  • Develop test plans for unit and system testing.
  • Verify the stability of code deliverables (SDN & Config) from Manhattan and assess their impact on production systems.
  • Document all modifications thoroughly and maintain system documentation.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining departmental system standards.
  • Support and troubleshoot issues with functional analysts.
  • Travel requirement of 30-40% for DC implementations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Location:

  • GPC offers two work locations: Duluth or Atlanta office.

Desired Qualifications & Experiences:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience developing workflows within Manhattan WMS (WMOS, MAWM), with experience in WES and MHE implementations preferred.
  • Experience with Host (ERP) - WMS integrations using Manhattan Integration Framework (MIF).
  • Knowledge of integrating warehouse management systems with equipment like WCS, TMS, ShipExec is desirable.
  • Creative and critical thinking skills, with a focus on results in resolving complex projects.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Google Cloud platform.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Project management, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently or within a team under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-up skills.
