Electrical Engineer - Substation Design Contract Duration: Through 07/07/2026 (with potential for extension) Location: Bay City, MI or Grand Rapids, MI (time split between office and field work) About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Substation Design Group. This team is responsible for the design, construction, and modification of substations throughout the state of Michigan. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting substation projects across Michigan's Lower Peninsula, with travel required south of Traverse City. Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with engineers to develop comprehensive construction scopes of work
• Review and validate design packages prepared by designers
• Verify Bills of Materials (BOM) and coordinate with Supply Chain to address material availability or obsolescence issues
• Support field teams by addressing technical inquiries and providing solutions during construction
• Ensure designs meet required standards and specifications

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an electrical engineer, preferably in utility or substation design
• Hands-on experience conducting grounding analysis
• Ability to read and interpret design drawings, preferably using MicroStation

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience using SAP for engineering or supply chain coordination
• Familiarity with ProjectWise for document management
