Full-time Senior End-User Computing Engineer in Midtown Manhattan

(Hybrid – Onsite 2 Days/Week)

Senior End-User Computing Engineer to play a strategic role in the modernization and support of our client's virtual desktop infrastructure. This position is part of our IT Enterprise Platforms team. The successful candidate will help design, support, and evolve our virtual desktop ecosystem, including leading efforts to transition from Citrix to Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD).

Key Responsibilities

Lead Virtual Desktop Initiatives

• Drive the engineering and performance tuning of our virtual desktop systems, with a focus on optimizing user experience and infrastructure reliability.

Platform Transition & Design

• Guide and execute the transition from Citrix platforms to Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), including planning, testing, and deployment.
• Recommend and implement technologies such as FSLogix, Ivanti Workspace Control, and User Profile Management to support the needs of a modern, distributed workforce.
• Work closely with teams across infrastructure, security, and applications to deliver integrated, secure, and scalable EUC solutions.

Advanced Support & Escalation

• Serve as the go-to technical lead for escalated issues related to desktop virtualization and endpoint environments.
• Deep experience managing and deploying AVD in enterprise-scale environments.
• Solid background in FSLogix, UPM, Ivanti Workspace Control, and Application Control to deliver tailored and secure user sessions.

Scripting & Automation

• Proficiency in PowerShell and experience automating routine administrative tasks within Windows environments.
• Familiarity with Hyper-V, VMware, and cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS for hosting and scaling virtual workloads.
• Working knowledge of Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops is beneficial, particularly for guiding migration projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline.
• 10+ years in virtual desktop infrastructure engineering, including architecture, design, and ongoing operations.

Certifications: Azure or Microsoft 365 certifications preferred. Citrix certifications (e.g., CCP-V, CCA-V) are an advantage but not essential.
