ELECTRICAL ENGINEER, STAGE 0 POWER SYSTEMS (STARSHIP)The Stage 0 sr. electrical engineer will be responsible for providing engineering support for the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of all Starship Launch Pad electrical systems in Cape Canaveral, FL. Scope includes all electrical infrastructure needed to launch, catch, and generate propellant for the Starship launch vehicle, as well as run daily operations on the pads.RESPONSIBILITIES:Cradle-to-grave project ownership through hosting design reviews, project decision justification, equipment procurement, and coordination and assistance of the construction of your designsWork in a team environment with other engineering disciplines to gather, understand, and challenge requirements, ultimately providing detailed electrical design and specification for the installation of electrical power equipment and systemsProvide engineering support for the design, operation, and troubleshooting of all Starship Stage 0 electrical components and systemsCoordinate all electrical installations and maintenance activities with electricians and local electrical utilities personnelEnsure all electrical designs and installations conform to applicable codes and regulationsEnsure that all equipment interfaces properly with other mechanical and electrical systems, including compatibility with facility power budgetsProvide code review and analysis utilizing NFPA 70E, NFPA 70 NEC, NFPA 497, NFPA 101, Vol 5 & 6 AFSPCMAN 91-710, and IBCBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or other engineering discipline7+ years of professional experience working on power distribution systems, switchgear, UPS's, and/or generatorsPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:10+ years of years of professional experience in a similar role working on power distribution systems, switchgear, UPS's, and generatorsAbility to read and understand power and control schematicsAbility to read and understand highly technical equipment operation and maintenance (O&M) manualsExperience with variable frequency drives (VFDs) and industrial pumpsExperience with controls in MODBUS and/or Profinet communicationExperience with medium voltage distributionExperience with control panel design and productionWorking knowledge of power coordination and arc flashAbility to work on multiple tasks concurrentlyHigh level of self-motivation, with the ability to work under minimal supervisionGood organizational skillsAbility to prioritize and schedule workloadStrong written and verbal communication skillsADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Ability to work extended hours and weekends as necessaryAbility to pass Air Force background check for Cape CanaveralAbility to work extended hours and weekends as needed; flexibility is requiredAbility to work in extreme outdoor environments when needed - heat, cold, wind, rain, etc.Ability to travel to other Starship Launch and Test sites as necessary (~10%)ITAR REQUIREMENTS:To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. * 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. * 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
