Senior Electrical Engineer - Heavy Industry

Ready to lead capital projects that actually get built?
We're hiring a Senior Electrical Engineer to support a 1M+ sq ft 24/7 manufacturing plant. You'll own CapEx projects , tackle electrical reliability issues , and be the go-to engineer for boots-on-the-ground technical leadership.
This is a hands-on role in a high-output, heavy industrial facility where engineering decisions get executed quickly . You'll work directly with union trades, salaried teams, and plant leadership to keep operations moving and improve critical systems.
What You'll Tackle
Own and lead capital projects from scope to installation
Design, test, and optimize electrical power systems and equipment
Draft electrical schematics, layouts, and technical documentation (AutoCAD)
Troubleshoot legacy systems , motor controls , and production line issues
Partner with union trades to solve floor-level problems in real time
Ensure all systems comply with NFPA, NEC , and internal safety standards
Mentor and support junior engineers, techs, and maintenance staff
Drive reliability improvements and long-term infrastructure planning
What You Bring
Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or EET
5+ years in heavy industrial , equipment-based , or manufacturing environments
3+ years of hands-on CAD experience (AutoCAD Electrical preferred)
Strong electrical troubleshooting and systems thinking
U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder (due to ITAR compliance)
Bonus Points For
Knowledge of PLC/HMI systems , motor controls , and electrical distribution
Experience with ABB robotics , automation , or control systems
Background in managing CapEx projects over $500K
Comfortable working in union environments
A steady hand in fast-paced, production-heavy operations
