Senior Director of Residential Services

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Director of Residential Services is responsible for supporting and mentoring Community Supervisors. This is an on-call position responsible for directly supervising the Community Supervisors and ensuring the direct oversight of all direct support staff in multiple homes throughout the county. This includes regular on-site visits and the coordination and scheduling of all program components. Provides oversight of each individual's programs and ensures there is a valid, current Life Plan, Res. Hab plan and necessary safeguards for each individual within their programs. Serves as a Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP) for the Residential Services Division and/or a QIDP is assigned. Verifies service delivery and ensures accurate daily billing, completed monthly notes and habilitation plans, and ensures that the most appropriate, individualized, and ethical programs are implemented and accurately documented. Responsible for all aspects of staffing, observes and assists supervisors to implement universal procedures and ensures compliance with all applicable regulations and agency policies. This position assists with department development and expansion, policy development, hiring and evaluating subordinates and various protocols established to address departmental issues.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education: Master's degree in Human Services or related discipline preferred. Bachelor's Degree in related Human Services discipline required (or in the process of pursuing).

Minimum Experience:

Five years of management experience in a program serving individuals with developmental disabilities.

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Must be able to maintain the strictest confidentiality
  • Good personal computer skills and knowledge of the appropriate software
  • Ability to manage program budgets
  • Some experience with electronic health records preferred
  • Be willing to work flexible hours
  • Travel to various program sites required
  • Demonstrate sound judgement and the capacity to respond to unusual situations
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent public speaking skills
  • Valid driver's license and meet agency driving standards

Physical Requirements:

Work may include prolonged periods of sitting, walking, or standing. Must have visual acuity adequate to read

Correspondence, computer screen, forms, etc.; manual dexterity; speaking and hearing ability sufficient to communicate by phone or in person at normal volumes.

Working Conditions:

Frequent contact with individuals supported by the agency, family members, program directors as well as state and federal licensing/regulatory agencies, state, county and municipal leaders, provider agencies outside consultants/vendors, local businesses, local networking, and organization groups.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provides ongoing support and direction to Community Supervisors. Mentors direct and indirect reports to enhance performance and service delivery.
  • Assume leadership responsibilities of Community Supervisor during such times that person is unavailable.
  • Develop staff including Community Supervisors and DSPs by ensuring that staff are properly and adequately trained.
  • Supervises team and participates in hiring, evaluating, and disciplining (including terminations) of staff as appropriate.
  • Verifies service delivery and ensures accurate daily billing vis Medisked, completed monthly notes and habilitation plans, and ensures that the most appropriate, individualized, and ethical programs are implemented and accurately documented.
  • Provides oversight to Community Supervision in reviewing and monitoring the Life Plan, ensuring that it is updated when changes to SAP are made.
  • Reviews and approves SAP. Provides oversight for all habilitation planning, progress, and evaluation in accordance with regulatory requirements. Ensures all required documents are aligned with the Life Plan.
  • Responsible for all aspects of staffing, observes and assists Community Supervisors to implement universal procedures and ensures compliance with all applicable regulations and Agency policies.
