Overview: As a Sr. Director of Generative AI Engineering at Litera , you will be part of a dynamic team that is passionate about driving innovation in the legal technology space. You will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge tools and collaborate with industry experts to deliver solutions that make a real difference in the legal profession.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and execute the generative AI roadmap aligned with product and engineering goals

• Lead ideation, prototyping, and scaling AI-driven solutions, including LLMs and AI autonomous agents

• Act as a creative leader, inspiring engineering teams to push the boundaries of innovation

• Lead technology architecture and development for innovation projects in the generative AI space

• Oversee the daily activities and progress of multiple teams

• Monitor and update team metrics for measurement of engineering and operational excellence

• Ensure a consistent, regular process for assessment of goals and improvement of deliveries

• Collaborate with p roduct m anagers on new products and new features

• Collaborate with architects to deliver secure, scalable and performant products

• Implement a data driven approach to drive transparency and accountability across all stakeholders

• Identify market gaps, product/client requirements or issues

• Strategic thinker with abilities to create or work on 90, 120, 180-day plans designed along with leadership team for self and teams.

Qualifications:

• Required Experience:

• Bachelor's, Masters' or equivalent experience is required

• 10+ years of technology leadership experience

• Demonstrated proficiency in fast-changing environments with a high level of ambiguity

• U nderstanding of generative AI technologies, including LLMs, MCP Servers, agents, and prompt engineering.

• Strong experience working hands-on with innovation teams to deliver high quality outcomes

• Motivated problem solver who can accurately document and communicate issues

• Experience with full-stack software development ( front end, back end, data and insights ) and hands-on technical design

• Experience leading artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives, ideally in a product-driven engineering environment.

• Strategic thinker with the ability to formulate product strategy

• Prior experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams of engineers simultaneously working on multiple projects

• Familiarity with DevOps CI/CD principles

• Comfortable interacting and presenting in front of C-level executives

• Strong understanding of software development life cycles (SDLC) with experience guiding teams through planning, development, and rollout

• Preferred Experience :

• Legal software experience a plus

• E xperience with Docker / Kubernetes , Fluent UI , TypeScript, .NET/ C# and React.js

• Proven experience with DevOps, AppSec and SRE organizations

• Possess innate customer service skills including the ability to be empathetic, accurate , compassionate, responsive, resourceful, and conscientious

• Strong relationship management, strategizing, project management, problem solving, and change management skills
