The Finance team plays a critical role in Tropicana Brands Group's overall success by providing financial insights, strategic guidance, and operational support. Through budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, the team ensures that resources are allocated efficiently to drive profitability and growth. Additionally, the team supports decision-making by identifying risks and opportunities, optimizing costs, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and financial regulations. By partnering with other departments, Finance helps align financial goals with business strategies, ultimately contributing to the company's stability and long-term success.

Your Next Pour: The Opportunity

We are looking to add a Sr. Director, Commercial Finance to our Finance team. The Senior Director of Commercial Finance plays a critical leadership role in driving financial planning, performance analysis, and strategic decision-making for the Sales organization. This individual will be responsible for overseeing trade investment, customer profitability, and promotional effectiveness across key retail and e-commerce channels. As a strategic business partner to the Chief Customer Officer and Sales leaders, this role ensures the financial rigor behind revenue-driving initiatives in a fast-paced, consumer-driven environment. Tropicana is looking for a critical thinker with exceptional communication, influencing and relationship management skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment. Additional responsibilities include:

Business Partnering & Decision Support:

  • Act as a strategic thought leader to the Chief Customer Officer and Customer Business Leads to drive profitable decisions and achieve annual targets.
  • Lead monthly sales and trade performance reviews and drive course-corrective action where needed to get back on Plan.
  • Evaluate customer investment opportunities using financial modeling, scenario planning, and sensitivity analysis.
  • Lead all financial planning, forecasting, and analysis activities for the Sales function, including top-line revenue, volume, and gross-to-net (GTN).
  • In partnership with the Controllership function, support period close and reporting, including customer level trade accruals and proper period-end accrual position via Trade Promotion Management (TPM) tool.
  • Oversee and optimize trade spend investments (Promo, TPR, slotting, co-op, etc.), ensuring alignment with ROI and margin targets.
  • Lead all Commercial Finance reporting and support build out of materials for Monthly Business Reviews (MBR) and Board presentations

Customer & Channel Profitability:

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of customer P&Ls, margin performance, and return on investment for trade spend.
  • Recommend pricing, discounting, and trade strategies based on customer and product-level insights.
  • Support strategic customer negotiations with financial insights and deal modeling.

Planning & Forecasting:

  • Lead the Commercial Annual Planning process, coordinating timelines with Corporate FP&A and executing Customer level Topline targets and supporting growth driver-based plans.
  • Key stakeholder collaborating cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Demand Planning, and Brand teams to ensure alignment across the business as part of the Integrated Business Planning (Process).
  • Drive periodic forecast cycle while providing accuracy and continuous improvement in financial planning tools and methodologies; identify risks and opportunities.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of sales finance professionals and analysts.
  • Foster a collaborative culture across Finance, Sales, Trade Marketing, and Commercial Strategy.

The Perfect Blend: Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in Finance, with at least 5+ years in Sales Finance within a CPG environment.
  • Deep knowledge of retail customer dynamics, trade promotions, and gross-to-net accounting.
  • Prior experience managing a team and working in cross-functional environments.
  • Advanced financial modeling, forecasting, and performance analysis capabilities.
  • Strong communication and business partnering skills with executive presence.
  • Proficiency in planning and reporting systems (e.g., SAP, TPM systems, Nielsen/IRI, Power BI, Excel).
  • Data-driven decision maker with strong attention to detail and business acumen.
  • Results-oriented, flexible, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Strategic thinker with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business; MBA preferred.

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship now or in the future

Must be located in Chicago, IL surrounding area or willing to relocate for the duration of employment.

Willingness to adapt and thrive in a blended work environment with 3-days in office, seamlessly transitioning between remote work and in-office operations

The salary range for this position is $180,000-$254,000 annually
