An Automation Engineering Company has a full-time direct position available for a Sr. Automation System Engineer based in Houston, TX.In this role, you have the opportunity to work with the leading automation platform in the industry, receive training certification on their control systems/products and work with the industry's most talented engineers. Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop control strategies and systems configuration for various DCS/PLC platforms with an emphasis on the DeltaV System.
  • Provide technical assistance and routine consultation to users and clients in the use of various control system platforms.
  • Review and interpret client specifications to produce project Functional Design, drawings and test documentation in accordance to project requirements and standard procedures.
  • Design hardware solutions related to project execution and customer site requirements and needs.
  • Perform hardware/software analysis to ensure efficient computer/system/network resourcing.
  • Act as a liaison with manufacturers and vendors of software and application products.
  • Work alongside team to diagnose and resolve system complications.
Experience/Skills:
  • Four year degree in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical or Computer Programming or
  • 7+ years of experience in configuration of any DCS / PLC system (DeltaV preferred) including Software Design, implementation, internal and external testing, commissioning and startup.
  • Experience with IT networks & operating systems & field bus (Server 2016 / Windows 7 / Profibus / Modbus / Foundation fieldbus / OPS & OSI PI) is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Good Automated Manufacturing Practice (GAMP).
  • Batch experience is required.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical manuals, and journals.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries from customers, sales and other technical support personnel.
  • Ability to effectively present information to individuals or groups with similar background and training.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to effectively use the following computer applications: Word processing, spreadsheets, Internet software, E-mail, Database software, Networking, PC and mainframe systems.
  • Strong work ethic displaying consistent dependability, reliability and initiative.
