Sr. Automation and Control Engineering Manager
Revere Control Systems is seeking a hands-on Sr. Automation and Control Engineering Manager to lead and actively contribute to the design, programming, and implementation of complex industrial automation projects. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and leadership skills, serving as both a practicing engineer and a team leader responsible for delivering high-performance control systems.
This is a hands-on position—the ideal candidate will be deeply involved in project execution, providing technical support while managing engineering teams, mentoring staff, and promoting standardization and innovation in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of automation engineers across multiple projects
- Contribute to engineering deliverables including PLC/HMI/SCADA programming, control system design, and on-site commissioning
- Serve as the technical lead for instrumentation and control system designs
- Collaborate with project managers to define scope, develop schedules, and meet client requirements
- Provide technical leadership for system architecture, code development, FAT/SAT, and troubleshooting
- Ensure quality and compliance with standards (e.g., UL 508A, NEC, ISA)
- Mentor and develop engineering talent through training, reviews, and feedback
- Support resource planning and career development initiatives
- Engage with clients and vendors to resolve technical issues and ensure project success
- Drive continuous improvement in tools, processes, and standards
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or related field
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in industrial automation and control systems
- 3+ years in engineering leadership or technical management
- Proficiency with Rockwell Automation platforms (Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View)
- Experience with SCADA systems like VTScada, Ignition, or Wonderware
- Strong knowledge of IT/OT integration, networking, and cybersecurity
- Exceptional troubleshooting and commissioning skills
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
- Willingness to travel occasionally for field support
Preferred Qualifications
- PE license
- Experience with Siemens, Schneider Electric, or other major platforms
- Proficiency with design tools such as EPLAN and AutoCAD
- Industry experience in water/wastewater, manufacturing, energy, or similar sectors
