Sr. Admissions Specialist - Social Worker- Saturday Nights - Baton Rouge General : Job Details

• Compassionate, proactive communicator with strong crisis intervention skills
• Minimum 2 years of mental health/chemical dependency experience preferred
• Master's Degree in social work, counseling, or related field required
• Current Louisiana licensure as LCSW, LMSW, CSW, or LPC required
• Familiarity with DSM IV diagnostic criteria preferred
• Strong documentation, referral coordination, and patient advocacy skills

Check out our employee perks here! What You Will Do: Provide patients with timely assessments, crisis intervention, and coordinated referrals to behavioral health or social services. Serve as a liaison for patients, their families, and community agencies seeking access to appropriate psychiatric and medical care.

• Respond to inquiry calls and document intake accurately
• Schedule and conduct in-person assessments in the Emergency Department and medical units
• Provide crisis intervention, discharge planning, and psychiatric referrals
• Consult with on-call psychiatrists and coordinate insurance pre-certifications
• Refer non-admission candidates to appropriate community resources
• Submit accurate daily activity and special data reports
• Mentor and orient new staff; serve as a resource for complex admissions
• Monitor and improve admission process effectiveness and propose enhancements
• Assist with medical social service needs in the ED, including social service consults, abuse evaluations, and trauma support
• Represent BRG at community collaborative initiatives
