Located in Redmond, 1stMILE is a financial technology company that delivers a consumer driven commerce platform connecting consumers, their cars, and repair shops, streamlining commerce. We are looking for a Sr. Accountant who will be responsible for the accurate and timely calculation, reporting, and administration of team member wages, taxes, benefits, and deductions. The role also involves maintaining and classifying transactions for monthly financial reporting and managing sales commissions. Payroll Processing, Reporting, and Administration: • Accurately calculate employee wages, taxes, benefits, and deductions. • Prepare and submit semi-monthly payroll reports and year-end W-2s. • Ensure compliance with federal and local agencies. • Reconcile payroll tax accounts and post journal entries. • Calculate and record PTO Accrual and employee listings. General Ledger Management: • Assist in maintaining the integrity of the general ledger by preparing and posting journal entries, accurately classify transactions and perform account reconciliations. • Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliation and credit card statements to ensure all cash and credit transactions are accurately recorded. • Maintain fixed assets additions on schedule, calculate depreciation and post journal entries. • Manage prepaid expense additions on schedule, calculate amortization and post journal entries. • Full range of accounts payable duties, such as processing invoices, expense reports, review proposed weekly aging and enter journal entries. • Annual preparation and delivery of 1099 forms. • Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation. • Support month-end and year-end close processes by reviewing trial balances, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring timely reporting. • Assist as needed, with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation. Sales Commission Calculation: • Utilize Excel to fill out information, volumes, and formulas for sales commission calculations. • Audit commission sheets to ensure proper percentages are applied based on different compensation plans per sales team. • Populate and distribute individual commission sheets to team members for review and make necessary corrections.   • Excel Proficiency: Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, advanced formulas (SUMIFS, VLOOKUP, FILTER), and problem-solving abilities.
  • Math Knowledge: Strong understanding of advanced math concepts relevant to compensation and payroll calculations.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with team members and leadership.
  • Accounting/ERP Experience: Familiar with navigating older platforms and Microsoft DynamicsGP (Great Plains) a plus.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail, especially in data management and documentation.
  • Experience: Previous experience in payroll processing, compensation management, and general ledger management.
  • Education: Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
