Under direction of the Information Systems Branch (ISB) Information Technology Manager II (IT Manager II), the Information Technology Specialist I (ITS I) acts as a project lead on complex applications, and/or complex information technology system problems. Incumbent works independently as a technical specialist performing system programming and analysis related to the development of reports. This position is in the System Engineering domain. Incumbents in this classification will progress through ranges A, B and C based upon the requirements of the alternate range criteria relating to the classification specifications. As the incumbent progresses beyond Range A, the incumbent will be expected to perform the level of responsibilities associated with the assigned range, in addition to the level of responsibilities in the lower range(s): Range A - Incumbents in this range develop, maintain, test, and resolve routine report issues. Incumbents analyze and resolve complex data and programming issues with guidance. Range B - Incumbents in this range complete programming responsibilities with less supervision, and broader knowledge and application of DCA's business environment, database structure and programming tools. Incumbents develop, maintain, test and resolve complex reporting issues. With guidance, incumbents develop and document design specifications and recommend solutions for complex business requirements. With guidance, incumbents analyze and recommend reporting framework changes. Incumbents may implement reporting framework changes as well if approved by the supervisor. Range C - Incumbents in this range require minimal supervision and have expert knowledge of DCA's business environment, database structure and programming tools. Incumbents develop, maintain, test and resolve complex reporting issues. Incumbent work independently with other staff to analyze system requirements and design, develop, test and integrate applications. Incumbents analyze, recommend, and implement reporting framework changes.
