This role provides direct services to students withspeech and language needs in a therapeutic educational setting. We provide a structured, nurturing, and therapeutic learning environment where the Speech and Language Therapist can make a meaningful impact on each student's academic and emotional growth.Key Responsibilities as a Speech and Language Therapist
- Conduct screenings, diagnostic assessments, and evaluations to determine student needs.
- Provide direct speech/language therapy services, including management of articulation, language, fluency, and voice disorders.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with school staff and families.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and collaborate with teachers on strategies to support student goals.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with school and state requirements.
- Provide consultation and recommendations to staff and families.
- Stay current on best practices and continue professional development as a Speech and Language Therapist.
Qualifications
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Illinois Professional Educator License with Speech-Language Pathologist endorsement
- ASHA Certification (CCC-SLP) required
- Knowledge of speech/language development, special education regulations, trauma-informed care, and behavior management
- Experience with RTI/MTSS, early childhood development, autism, and assistive technology preferred
- Must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to communicate effectively across disciplines
- Willingness to travel between Urbana and Rossville campuses as needed
