Speech Language Therapist (Grades 4-5) Are you a passionate Speech Language Therapist eager to make a meaningful difference in students' lives? Compensation: $80 per hourLocation: Pennsauken, NJ 08109About the Role: In this vital position, you will provide expert speech and language therapy services to students, helping them overcome communication challenges and thrive in their educational journey. You will work closely with students, families, educators, and the Child Study Team to assess needs, develop individualized plans, and deliver high-quality therapy services. Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate referrals for speech and language services and determine eligibility
  • Provide speech and language therapy in accordance with students' Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Participate as a member of the Child Study Team, contributing consultative and evaluative expertise
  • Assist in developing evaluation plans and conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments
  • Prepare detailed reports outlining evaluation results and developmental progress
  • Serve as a consultant to administrators, staff, and families on speech therapy-related matters
  • Maintain active participation on assigned School Resource Committees as needed
  • Support families by advising on private evaluation and therapy options for speech, language, and hearing concerns
  • Adhere to professional standards and guidelines as outlined in the department's policies
  • Perform other duties within the scope of employment as assigned by the Director of Student Support Services or designee
Qualifications:
  • New Jersey State Certification as a Speech and Language Specialist
  • Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology
  • Successful completion of New Jersey Criminal History Review Unit fingerprinting
  • Compliance with New Jersey State residency requirements for public employees
