Speech Language Pathologist - talent4health : Job Details

Duration: 20 weeks

Hourly Taxable: $2,541 Weekly ($30.10 per hour on W2 + $1,337 Weekly Nontaxable Reimbursement)

Description:

• Comprehends, interprets, and follows medical prescriptions for Speech-Language Pathology. Applies the accepted principles, methods, and procedures of measurement, prediction, and evaluation tests to assess patient's strengths and limitations providing clinical diagnoses and assists patient to achieve objective short and long term goals.
• Administers and interprets clinical speech-language pathology services for assigned patients. Adjusts treatments according to patient's response to speech-language pathology treatment protocol.
• Maintains accurate records of each patient's treatment, progress, and/or regression according to the Service Delivery Standard using paper or electronic systems, as necessary. Maintains confidentiality of patient and hospital information.
• Establishes and maintains effective working relationship with patients, their families, and other staff personnel. Participates in patient care conferences with other professionals involved in the management of cases. Provides patient/family education, as needed.
• Participates in planning decisions for patient's post-discharge placement. Makes appropriate referrals and follows up to ensure proper placement and programming of patient. Interfaces with vendor to provide needed durable medical equipment.
• Provides direction to departmental support staff, departmental clerical staff (as duties relate to treatment), and to speech-language pathology students, Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), and volunteers.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

• Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology.
• Certificate of Clinical Competency (ASHA) or Clinical Fellowship year candidate.
• New York State licensure or eligibility to be licensed as a Speech Language Pathologist.
• BLS Certification
• Acute care therapist that ideally can-do swallow assessments, speech language cognitive assessments, video fluoroscopies, and speech and swallow treatment

Additional:

• Work Hours: 40 hours/week -Monday through Friday 8-hour days
