Specimen Processing Services Specialist I - Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center : Job Details

May include transfusion support duties. Regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this job in order to carry out the primary responsibilities. The specialist may be asked to cover alternative shifts or weekends as needed per staffing. Responsibilities Performs specimen processing of blood specimens. Performs venipuncture phlebotomy on patients, donors, research participants and employees where required. Able to learn computer skills in a timely manner Processes specimens including centrifugation, aliquoting, and dispensing specimens to proper lab processing and sendout sites. Participates in Quality Improvement/ Quality Assurance programs and projects. Records variances of standard policies and procedures in Patient Safety Net accurately and where required. Responsible for receiving patients at the Alliance Laboratory for blood draw appointments and scheduling walk-in appointments.
