Job Description :

The BTU Specialist will provide support to students with disabilities enrolled in the ABA Strand and other students at risk within the school(s). The specific support services will be determined collaboratively by the Principal(s)/Headof School(s) and the Office of Specialized Services (OSS), based on student needs.

Reports to: Principal(s)/Headof School(s) or OSE Program Director (in certain schools) with support from OSS

Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored support services for students in the strand and at risk, as defined collaboratively by the Principal/Headof School and OSE.
  • Deliver support to individual students, small groups, and classes, as outlined in IEPs or Service Team Action Plans.
  • Collaborate with school staff and administrators in planning and service delivery.
  • Manage cases and liaise with other schools, districts, and community providers.
  • Participate in Service and Evaluation Teams.
  • Offer consultation and professional development to colleagues.

Qualifications - Required

  • Board Certification as a Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
  • Moderate or Severe Disabilities License from Massachusetts.
  • Experience in delivering support services to students with disabilities.
  • Ability to meet BPS Standards of Effective Practice.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SEI Endorsement and/or ESL teaching license.
  • Master's Degree in special education or related field.
  • Experience in Boston Public Schools and urban settings.
  • Fluency in BPS official languages such as Spanish, Creole, Chinese, Vietnamese, Portuguese, or Somali.
