Position Information TxDOT is looking for a part-time Special Projects Coordinator III in the Maintenance Section at the Paris District Headquarters. We are seeking a highly motivated, organized, proactive, and detail-oriented individual to support district business operations. This individual will need to possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, along with leadership capabilities. In this role, you will ensure compliance with policies/procedures, help establish best practices, provide support to various staff & departments, manage inventory, and ensure data accuracy. Establishes objectives, guidelines, procedures, schedules, priorities, and/or methods for achieving program or project goals. Work requires extensive contact with department management, and external governmental agencies or organizations. May serve as a lead worker. Employees at this level establish their own work plan and priorities to meet set objective. Issues are rarely referred to the supervisor but are handled at the occurrence. Essential Duties:
  • Identifies and assesses the need for new programs or projects.
  • Oversees and monitors the progress of current program initiatives or projects; evaluates pending program initiatives and projects for planning purposes; and consults and advises personnel and external contacts in policies and procedural requirements
  • Performs site visits to provide staff assistance or in support of various management issues.
  • Provides training or technical support and assistance in program or project areas.
Minimum Qualifications:Education: Bachelor's Degree in business administration, public administration, or a related discipline. Relevant experience may be substituted for education on a year per year basis. Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications Experience: 5 years business analysis, project or program administration, or related experience. (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent). Related graduate level education may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis. Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver's license. This position requires driving a state vehicle. Competencies:

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Lift up to 20 lbs at a time and frequently lift or carry objects up to 10 lbs

  • Talking-expressing or exchanging ideas by spoken words
  • Close Visual Acuity-work includes data/figures; view a computer screen; extensive reading
