Full Job Description: Special Education Transition TeacherSalary Grade: Teacher's Salary Schedule +24 DaysTulsa Public Schools' existing salary schedules provide career increment adjustments based on education/experience and/or years of creditable service. For more information on our comprehensive benefits packages, please visit: Compensation and Benefits website.Position Summary: The Transition Teacher will provide comprehensive and specialized instruction to students in the Transition Academy including ages 18-22 who have developmental and physical disabilities. Instruction will be provided across all environments including the classroom, community, and job site. The primary goal of the Transition Teacher is to provide specialized instruction in an individualized program for students to empower them for life after high school.Minimum Qualifications:Education:•Bachelor's DegreeSpecialized Knowledge, Licenses, etc.:•Oklahoma Teaching Certification with an endorsement of Mild/Moderate SpecialEducation or Severe/Profound Special EducationExperience:•Three (3) years working in a self-contained special education classroomOther:•Within a school year, be able to demonstrate computer literacy through the accurate useof EdPlan (state IEP program)•Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Office Suite•Bilingual in Spanish preferred
