This is an exciting opportunity to support students with diverse learning needs in a self-contained environment. You'll play a key role in helping young learners grow academically, socially, and emotionally while working within a supportive and collaborative school environment.

Location: In-person (no hybrid or remote options)

Schedule: Monday-Friday, full-time school schedule

Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 35 hours per week

Grade Level: Elementary School, 3rd-6th grades

Position Details:

  • Support 3rd-6th grade students in a self-contained environment differentiating instruction to meet their individual educational goals.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), modify curriculum, and track student progress.
  • Provide individualized instruction to cultivate academic, social, and emotional growth while managing student behavior and fostering inclusion.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure a cohesive approach to student learning.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, or related field.
  • Special Education Teaching Certification in the state of CT - either Initial, Provisional, or Professional teaching certification.
