Assembly Technician
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalency.
- 3 years' experience in assembly operations/manufacturing.
- Advanced understanding of blueprint and process sheet interpretation.
- Hold active IPC certification.
- Hold active J-STD modules 1-4 certifications.
- Hold active Space addendum certification.
- Ability to use Microsoft applications to analyze data (i.e. Word, Excel, Oracle, etc.)
- Ability and willingness to use basic hand tools (crimpers, soldering iron, wire strippers, brazing equipment, etc.) and measuring devices (calipers, micrometers, rulers, etc)
- Ability and willingness to operate high temperature ovens and furnaces.
- Ability and willingness to pass Visual Acuity Exam as necessary.
- Ability and willingness to obtain Solder, Braze, and Electro-Static discharge certification as required.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Assemble parts according to process sheet/print instructions.
- Perform electrical, mechanical, magnetic testing as required (i.e. dielectric, meggar, hipot, AC/DC, ATP, etc.)
- Perform basic set up of fixtures; Perform vapor blasting as required.
- Perform inventory counts and verification.
- Assist with proto-type or first time builds with guidance from higher level employees.
- Assist Engineering and/or Team in development and/or improvement of layout procedures and process sheets.
- Review expiration date of materials to ensure materials & equipment to ensure all are current.
- Proactively work to improve efficiency and quality of products, Good housekeeping skills
- Frequently interact with internal and/or external customers and support functions (i.e. Planners, Engineering) outside of home department. May act as primary contact for auditors.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and recommend part maintenance.
- Report problems to appropriate resource and/or Coach.
- Assist with labor & material quoting.
- Utilize FLIGHT DECK resources to help problem-solve and troubleshoot areas of opportunity.
- Utilize proper PPE, safety equipment, and follow safety procedures.
- Participate in and lead team initiatives.
- Exemplifies and coaches' others on the GE Behaviors.
- Other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:
- Ability to continuously use hands and fingers in repetition.
- Ability to occasionally bend, stoop, twist, crouch, squat, climb, and/or balance. Ability to continuously sit; ability to occasionally lift to 20 lbs.; ability to push/pull up to 22 lbs.
Compensation Grade: HRLY AVIATION
This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
