Pay Rate: $53 – $55/hour

Certification: CMRP (Certified Materials & Resource Professional) required at hire or within 12 months
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Sourcing Specialist to join our dynamic Supply Chain team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing and negotiating contracts, identifying cost savings, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring continuity in supply through proactive supplier engagement. This role plays a key part in supporting supply chain goals, maintaining data integrity, and contributing to procurement strategies that align with our healthcare system's operational objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify cost savings opportunities through contract negotiations with GPOs and vendors
- Lead Request for Proposal (RFP) processes and assist departments in supplier selection
- Source and negotiate contracts across multiple product and service categories
- Rapidly identify alternate suppliers in urgent or supply-constrained situations
- Manage relationships with domestic and international suppliers
- Meet with supplier representatives and conduct quarterly performance reviews
- Collaborate with Value Analysis and internal stakeholders to share cost-saving opportunities
- Support departments in implementing cost-saving initiatives
- Ensure pricing accuracy by working closely with Pricing and Data Integrity teams
- Manage contract documentation and ensure compliance with Legal requirements
- Maintain up-to-date records of pricing, renewals, and contract changes
- Assist purchasing teams in resolving pricing or vendor-related issues
- Identify and source substitute products during recalls or shortages
- Track and report cost savings performance by defined periods
- Use Google tools (e.g., Sheets, Docs, Slides) to analyze supplier/category spend
- Act as procurement liaison for internal and external inquiries
- Support product branding and standardization initiatives
- Participate in process improvement and workflow optimization initiatives
- Perform other duties in accordance with HMH standards
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 7 years of relevant sourcing or procurement experience
- CMRP certification required at time of hire or within 12 months
- Strong project management and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Google Workspace tools (Sheets, Docs, Slides, etc.)
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in healthcare or hospital supply chain environment
- Familiarity with GPOs, RFP processes, and healthcare compliance requirements
- Working knowledge of contract management systems and ERP platforms
