Job Description :

An well respected hospital in New York, New York is seeking a Sourcing Lead for their Materials Department.

The Sourcing Lead is responsible for heading the sourcing and supplier selection for a group of categories and departments, leading a team, and basing decisions on the intersection of cost, quality and outcomes, with consideration of impact to departments and patients within the health care system.

Responsibilities
  • Builds relationships and communicates effectively with client departments, assessing needs and supplier performance expectations. Evaluates department practices, usage, and demand; defines client requirements and specifications. Demonstrates expertise in the organization's service and financial standards, incorporating them appropriately.

  • Gathers and interprets supplier and market data through formal and informal processes. Evaluates supplier capabilities to meet the institution's needs using fair and thorough techniques, and determines sourcing strategies that optimize value. Reviews supplier effectiveness regularly and recommends changes as needed.

  • Researches comparator businesses and institutions to support sourcing recommendations.

  • Works with departments to quantify budget impacts of new contracts. Analyzes data to present to department heads and Value Analysis senior leadership for review.

  • Partners with client departments to establish efficient ordering routines with appropriate controls within health system operations. Leads implementation of sourcing changes, such as switching suppliers or increasing spends/services.

  • Negotiates contracts, terms, and conditions, considering product/service/supplier impact on the health system. Develops contracts supporting business requirements, including clear expectations, performance metrics, and remedies for shortfalls.

  • Contributes to the creation of policies and procedures that promote supplier behaviors and departmental efficiencies.

  • Collaborates with I.T. on automated processes for supplier interfaces and integration of procurement applications.

  • Leads levels I and II Sourcing Specialists and support staff, possibly supervising.

  • Leads projects related to value analysis, demand, supplier reliability, costs, and savings. Manages project timelines, service delivery, and savings objectives.

  • Stays updated on healthcare value analysis trends and market developments.

  • How to earn a fast interview?
